2011 Hurricane Season

The Alabama Gulf Coast is hoping for a hurricane-free season this year, but forecasters are predicting an above-average number of storms.  The combination of warm surface temperatures in the tropic Atlantic combine with neutral surface temperatures in the Pacific will make for an active season, according to researchers at Colorado State University.

During our twenty-five years at Gulf Shores Plantation, the MHI staff has had significant first-hand experience with these storms and we’ve learned to make preparations early “just in case” and we’ve attached a copy of our 2011 Hurricane Manual for your review.

Please remember that if a storm should impact our area, this web site will be our tool for communicating with you. Even if power and telephone service is interrupted at the Plantation, the site can be administered from virtually anywhere.
