Real Estate News – April 2010

Real estate sales activity has significantly picked up, with many more prospects showing up at the Plantation looking to purchase a unit at an attractive price. With increased guest traffic on property, our office has been busy showing units, even with the increased occupancy of Spring Break. If a unit is occupied, we contact the guest to set up a convenient time to show the unit. This is one of the benefits of using Mandoki Realty, the onsite brokerage…we can work comfortably with guests to show those occupied units to potential buyers. Let’s look at the numbers…

There have been ten sales in 2010 so far, with nine of the ten being cash sales. Five units have sold in Plantation East, one in Dunes, three in West and one in Palms. Eight of the ten were foreclosure sales and most of those were 2007 foreclosures from Taylor, Bean and Whitaker. These units were subsequently brought to market this past winter after the Ocala, Florida-based lender declared bankruptcy in summer 2009. Currently, there are ten units either under contract or pending sale, and we hope to bring even more to the closing table as the selling season progresses.
